Officials say someone burglarized a woman's home and destroyed her clothes with bleach, ruined her sheets with ketchup and poured detergent and salad dressing on the living room floor.

The woman told a police officer that when she returned to her Southwest 19th Avenue Road home Wednesday morning, she found the window on the east side of the master bedroom had been broken.

Once inside, she noticed all the acts of vandalism and called police.

West Port teens to face multiple drug charges

Two West Port High School students were arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of marijuana.

School Resource Officer Robert Gravel was called to the office, where a school official said he had received a tip about a student having marijuana.

A teacher searched the 17-year-old and found a marijuana cigarette under an insert inside his shoe. The teen told the officer the joint had been in his shoe for some time. He denied giving marijuana to anyone else.

A school official then gave the resource officer a folded piece of paper towel that contained marijuana. The drug, officials said, came from another student.

That student, age 16, told the officer he got the weed from the 17-year-old. He said they were at lunch when he bought the 17-year-old a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in exchange for marijuana. The hand-off of the drug, he said, occurred during class.

The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with sale and possession of marijuana. The other student was charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams.

Deputies working on service project today

FORT MCCOY — Marion County Sheriff's Office Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 145 will begin a community service project today at the VFW Retirement Home.

Detective Todd Tucker, president of the lodge, said they will arrive at the home, located at 13005 NE 135th St., at 8 a.m. today and Saturday to expand the fishing deck from 8 feet to 16 feet and build a 250-foot fence in the fishing area.

Benefit to be held for Seath Jackson's family

A benefit for the family trust fund of Seath Tyler Jackson will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ocala Drive-in Flea Market, 4850 S. Pine Ave.
