The Katy Perry fashion show

I tried to keep count of Perry's costume changes. Midway through there were at least eight, then ka-pow in one song 'Hot n Cold' she magicked seven on-stage Wonder Woman-like changes to the lyrics "you change your mind like a girl changes clothes".

She became a clothing illusionist with the help of her support crew of dancers who showered her in curtains on glitter, and shimmied a silk curtained portable changing room about her, which then collapsed onto the stage in a matter of seconds to reveal yet another new look. Perry exploded from it like a super hero exiting a giant cake without missing a beat. And, in true Hollywood style she did it all in high heels.

The costumes were mesmerising: pink, red and purple girlie prom dresses corseted at the waist and tutu-like skirts, a form fitting leotard with a detachable feathered peacock tail, and cat suit complete with ears and tail.

The outfits morphed from pretty to sexy but always fun and colourful. A glittering emerald green gown split to the thigh; candy striped one-shoulder dress with a giant detachable pink ribbon corsage; puffy candy floss skirts topped with a sequinned love heart bustier; and a leotard featuring lolly pop whirls on the bust.

Perry has her own perfume, Katy Perry Purr, and is also the international ambassador for jeweller Thomas Sabo.

Wellington's Village Goldsmith gifted Perry a ring, pictured right,  from its Inspired range as "a gift to Perry from New Zealand".

The 'What's the Point' diamond, silver and gold ring valued at $6400 (pictured) was given to Perry backstage before the show by ZM's 'Polly' Gillespe.

I was at the concert last night. i am not a big fan but nor am i a disliker of her music. i thought she conducted her concert very well. big ups to her making the effort to have a show in wellington when so many big acts by pass the capital, i think you could tell in the crowd that they were impressed that someone of her popularity came to wellington.
