10. You know, the easy thing to say here concerning Janoris Jenkins is to boot him from the team. And far be it from me to do anything but take the easy way out. There is a bigger issue here and that is the marijuana use that has permeated the Florida football program. I've been told Urban Meyer was stunned at how big a problem it was when he arrived at Florida. It hasn't gone away. And that is the biggest reason I believe Will Muschamp has to make a statement here. Obviously Jenkins is either really arrogant or really ignorant. Either way, that's one thing that I've never understood about someone getting busted twice in a short period of time for the same offense. Once you get caught for the first time, isn't that enough of a deterrent to not do it again? I guess not, because we've already seen Marcus Thomas throw away a season, stars like Percy Harvin and Aaron Hernandez have to explain to the NFL why they failed drug tests and now Jenkins cost himself a ton of money and possibly his senior season. Meyer even went as far as to take his straightest arrows and room them with the players he knew had issues. I also know that turning away a kid with a problem isn't always the answer. And that the nation is turning its cynical eyes toward Gainesville to see what Muschamp will do. He can't be blamed for the four pot arrests in three months, but what he does about them will be judged not only by the media and fans but by his players. At the very least, he should push for Florida to toughen up the SEC's most lenient drug policy.

11. Other than that, it was a glorious weekend for the Gator athletic program. Two SEC tennis tournament titles, a sweep of Alabama in baseball and two walk-off wins over the Tide in softball. While there are certainly weekends around here that have been special, that has to be one of the best. I was thinking Sunday morning that Florida had these four huge events and if they went 3-1 it would be great and 2-2 wouldn't be shabby. Instead, a sweep. Sweet.

12. Kelsey Bruder's home run Saturday was the biggest since the salami hit by Ali Gardiner to beat Alabama and send Florida to the national championship series in 2009. Both of them came against Alabama pitcher Kelsi Dunne, who must hear the Gator fight song in her sleep. When Gardiner hit her homer two years ago, it was the fourth grand slam Dunne had given up to the Gators in two years. Bruder's homer was huge, because Florida has struggled against the best teams in the SEC this year, in part because of the injury to pitcher Stephanie Brombacher. To come back and take the series may be the catalyst the Gators need to head into the postseason.
